We Do Not Have to Forgive
by Henya Kagen , Ph.D I have noticed a rising trend in recent publications, an emphasis on the importance of "forgiveness" in the grief process. The main message of these various writers--whether they are philosophers, educators, psychologists, or clergy--is that the act of forgiving the one who caused us the harm is essential to the "healing process", and is a necessity in order to achieve "complete healing."
