God is unconditional love. During this review of your earthly life you will not blame God for your fate, but you will know that you yourself were your own worst enemy since you are now accusing yourself of having neglected so many opportunities to grow. Now you know that long ago, when your house burned down, when you child died, or when you suffered a heart attack, all fatal blows were merely some of the many possibilities for you to grow; to grow in understand, to grow in love, to grow in all those things which we still have to learn. And instead of using those opportunities wisely, you will repent now." Excerpt from book

Elisabeth Kubler-Ross has been dealing with death and near death experiences (NDE) for many decades, having been involved in thousands of cases of people that have experienced near death and returned to tell of their adventures. A wonderful introduction to chronicled accounts of the after-life and experiences people had while undergoing NDEs.

This book is essentially for beginners who would like to have a better understanding of death, especially what happens when we die, as told by those people who have had NDEs and lived to tell about it. The book is comforting, while at the same time informative in a non-threatening way.

I would highly recommend this book for anyone looking to start searching for answers about life and death. Since Dr. Ross is such an authority on death and NDEs, I feel that her credentials put her in a very credible position and the authority she speaks from is from her experiences, rather than her beliefs.

There was one quote from Kubler-Ross in response to a question about a child dying, and she basically said that children who die have learned in a very short period of time, what they needed to learn. That thought is comforting and combined with the overall message of this book, which is there is no death, is comforting to those of us who have lost a loved one.
